[Luna MVP Event] November Calendar Wallpaper

As October comes to a close, it's time to find a fresh Luna wallpaper to keep everyone's desktop in style through November! With Autumn in full swing, the leaves falling from the trees, and Thanksgiving closer than ever, we need a calendar wallpaper that matches the tone and mood of this time of year.

Design your own Luna Online November calendar wallpaper for your chance to win a Luna MVP forum badge and a 7-day Vampire Costume. All entries need to be wallpaper-sized (1024x768 or larger), be Luna Online-themed, and be usable as a November 2009 calendar. Please read the full rules below for more details.

It's quite simple isn't it? Not much of a detail though. Well, I'm still practicing how to edit photos & stuff so that's what everyone could've expected.

Oooh, very classy, ultracide. I like it. Good use of color, good use of fishing kitty (always a bonus because he's adorable, and he does fit this wallpaper's color scheme beautifully), and a nice, subtle background. The leaf border looks great and fits the theme well, and the Thanksgiving Mimics are cute...but are we supposed to cook up Preier there for Thanksgiving? D:



The only thing I can say against it is that, personally, I would have liked to see the calendar itself a bit larger. The actual calendar is just so small in proportion to the whole image. It's positioned well within the image, and I realize that because of the characters on either side that it is about as big as you could make it without overlapping them. I'm just picky and hard to satisfy.

Well, I guess one other thing. I love Wisy almost as much as I love her sister, but with the leaves already there for each day inside the calendar and Wisy behind it, it obscures the Friday and Saturday columns just a bit. It looks pretty, and as a purely-decorative image this would work really well; but if someone were to try and use this as a functional calendar, it just makes the Fridays and Saturdays a bit too dark and cluttered.

Still, it looks really good. It'll be a very competitive submission for this month's calendar.

Oh, and, in my opinion, simple is almost always better. ^_^ Of course, it's saphar's opinion that matters...

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, so I didn't know what I'd put on a Thanksgiving calendar. :/ So I just did this instead..

Ultracide, apart from Wisy blocking obscuring some of the weekend dates (sorry, I wear glasses and my monitor has always been weird)...your calendar does NOT look like it was "practice material"...it's beautiful, elegant, and has BOTH Preir AND the fishing kitty~ <3 GREAT use of the Fansite kit!! ~^__^~

Oooh, more pretty calendars! /is jealous

nightmarew, I chuckled heartily at your character looming over that poor turkey. XD I actually really like the way your calendar sticks out from the background image like that, too. With so many different text boxes, though, it looks...scattered. For my money, it may have looked better to use less text and cluster it all in one spot...or maybe two.

fratelle...hrm...giant mushrooms = food, so...yep, looks Thanksgiving-y to me. I really like the look of your calendar (and the font you used for November 2009). I'm not a very artsy person, so I don't know the proper terminology for the style you used, but it's a very sleek design. I just wish the photograph of your character wasn't covering up parts of the 27th and 28th.

ihatelime, your calendar is beautiful. And that totally has nothing to do with a certain NPC standing next to the Sunday column... <_< Haha, no, really, those little puffy yellow clouds you used for the days are adorable. The lineup at the bottom is prodigious, it even has the greatest dwarf in all of Blueland in it (okay, so they all look the same...but that's Boucheron, I'm sure of it ) but whenever I look at it, all I can think is, "watchu lookin' at, Wiff?" Overall, it has a very crisp, clean, fresh look to it...but, in my mind, that's the only problem. It looks like a wonderful calendar for the Spring or early Summer, but...I just don't see Autumn in there anywhere. That's probably just me, though. I might just be looking at the wrong "parts" of this submission... <_<

nami_burali... Holy smokes! Sooooooo purty! Really, that is gorgeous. I love the way the autumnal border is sort of encroaching on the green, summery background. Sort of like it's swallowing up the summer! D: Very neat. And, of course, pretty characters are pretty (even though my eyes just sort of automatically glaze over and ignore the elves... <_<; ). The two characters to the right of the calendar in particular really caught my attention. Very cute. The calendar itself is all fancy 'n stuff. It looks great, especially the font. The color of the calendar borders (and the numbers and days of the week) might be a little too...warm. There's lots of warm colors in you calendar, with darker shades of reds and yellows and oranges and whatnot all over the place. With all that, the color of the calendar just blends in a little too well. Also...sort of the opposite of what I said about nightmarew's calendar...I think that long copyrighted text line just above the days of the week and below the upper run of characters is too cluttered. You've got EYA and gpotato and the Luna logo all right in line with "November," and it's a bit much with the complexity and otherwise-wonderful depth of color in you image. I'd maybe move the gpotato logo to the upper right and the EYA logo to the upper left, and then re-center the Luna logo (and move it to the other side) but leave it in line with November. But that's just me.

trinitybrooke, I enjoy the simple, clean look of your submission. That "circle of autumn" there that you put your calendar in looks really nifty. I've seen that image of elfyman petting the doggy just a few too many times, but otherwise I have nothing negative to say here. I may not have much to say about it, but yours is probably the one submission so far that I'd actually use as a background.

Yeah, I panicked when I schoose the main wine color of the calendar. I was too scared to use a pastel or a bold color. as for the clutteredness, I did that to camoflouge certain parts of their feet, I didnt want those logo's there, since the link had content of other MMO's. and it looked good when I first lined them up! XD then I shrunk it and added it to the overall image.
