Wow, I was wondering what the weather system was for. I though it was just something random they decided to add. xD

Are you sure about this one? I fish in luminous waters only (unless there's none, then it's swirling) and I get 4-8 perfects per "fish" yet I've only seen 2 golden carps and 2 terrapins in my whole fishing career, which is impossible if the drop chance is 4-8% (+spot/weather chance) for me.

The chance of me just being the statistical anomaly is somewhere around 0.000041% if it is (and i'm not even taking in account of spot / weather bonus or the fact that I've never gotten shiny junk).

I got all my facts from other versions of Luna, which I am not allowed to link to.
But, I think I stated that ctrl does not stack and I am sorry if i didn't.
If you hit perfect one time, you get +1%
but if you hit perfect 5 times, you still only get +1%

I fish on lumnious and swirling myself, some days is bad and I only get 2-3 rare fishes, other days I can get up to 6 before I go to bed.

And I have never gotten shiny junk either, but I know others have. Their probably just more rarer.

But, I did not do these statistical's myself, I read, I translated, I explored, I googled, and when I was done I found all the information I needed on fishing.

Actually, it would make sense if they stack. When fishing in luminous water with the carp+2% bait on luminous waters in sunny conditions. If you were to be able to hit a perfect 18 out of 18 perfects you would have:
+54% chance of dacy +20% standard chance
+36% chance of gold minnow +10% standard chance
+2% chance of carp +5% standard chance (i think this falls under a good/great/perfect as well but is unrecorded because i highly doubt that there would be any reasoning behind having a lower drop rate than golden carp)
+18% chance of gold carp +.02% standard chance
+0% chance of terrapin +.01% standard chance
+0% chance of shiny garbage +.001% standard chance

Now, there is a reason i listed those percentages seperately. Without touching anything you have a 50.31% chance of catching anything. Then from that 50% chance, when catching part of that, 54% chance etc of the other fish.

Now while i'm aware that it comes to +110.% chance out of that 50%, Edited by Cattle
Therefor, Assuming they have an if>then system for fishing, and 0 is a miss and 1=hit:
if(fishing=0) Then (catch=0)
if(fishing=1) Then (catch=2=54%, catch=3=36%..... etc

now, i fail at formulas and everything, but that's an example. No matter what you hit you will ALWAYS have a 50% chance to catch or miss a fish based on the flip of a coin

lol, this char has almost 8k fish exp, my other has like 6k fish exp... i still have yet to see garbage... and have only found 3 terrapin and like 15 gold carp... i was on a roll yesterday and teh day before, 3 gold carps in my 4 hour fishing sets... today i'm going through 3k bait, half afk, half hitting lotsa perfects and gotten 2 carps total and that's it for the past 6 hours...

i think we just have bad luck

i didnt know that fishing is so complicated. lol.

BTW i noticed that from the first few days of OB when there is only a few who fish including me, i got all the rare fish ( terappin the most, 1 shiningarbage) in 1 day and got the poseidon helm on the third day of open beta. but after a week i rarely get any gold fishes.
Its really weird..

well I got the Poseidon helmet as well (it's static, not only for 7 days btw). And If the +0.5% are true, I'm just very unlucky. You can catch some Golden Carps in Swirling Water, good day: 1 every 20 minutes (not jking!). I got ~4-5 golden carps and one terrapin with 2'500 points now (over 2k from afk fishing at peaceful waters!). How much is the Helmet worth btw? Someone offered me ~6.5m but I won't sell :P

imma try that one out. and dont sell the helm cause it's pretty good for training too because of its higher defense than most hi-lvl helm. and it cost more than a belt coz' its from a terrapin w/c is much rare than g.carps. Image

if i repeatedly hit ctrl on the perfect area does it add up!? like for the golden carp it says it increases by 1%. if i hit the perfect area 5 times, does it increase to 5%?

also, when do i get to intermediate level?

Where exactly do the items like the Turtle Shell and the other various things you can buy equip too?

I would assume they go into your costume section but want to make sure.

Also where does the cape and eye patch go?

This guide is a great guide but also can include how to become an intermediate class. ._. do you need 24800 points? D= at the least of 7-8 hours a day it would take 31 days to make it to intermediate. and aprox 3 mil.

ALSO the catch rate is probably exactly 41.75%. I bought 2000 bait and tested it out. it never seemed to be 50/50. so the first 100 bait I used caught me 41.4% ish. When I completed my 2000 fish i caught 835 fish all together. This makes 41.75% some one else can give it a test. But im sure this is pretty accurate.

OOOOh thank you, I can sell it to a guildie then I guess.
Just curious but what happens when you lvl up your fishing level? Does it just let you wear equipment for better catch rate, or does your catch rate of rare stuff increase?

BTW if you guys think you had bad luck, I am at 10k fishing exp and have gotten 2 turtles and 2 carp, total.

I found a 2nd piece from a terrapin.

I also found this list. Where's page 4? o.o

Anyways, what does the "SP additional order scroll(+5)" do?

This guide is cool.

I sorta wanted to share a quick.. little something ive discovered.

So i started up fishing yesterday, buying like 2k+ begginers bait, and a begginers rod. I set it on fish, and went afk for 14hrs or so lolol.. I come back, my skill point for fishing was at like 23xx.. and I had a golden carp. Not bad for a first timer..

I did the same procedure earlier today, bought bait, set to fish, left for 3hrs or so, come back to find a terrapin in my inventory! Fishing skill is only 29xx at this point (and still climbing) still a beginner!

I really think its either really lucky.. or really random.

But that's my thought..

Do you think you can add the points needed per fishing rank? I know beginner is 24800, and intermediate is 70-some thousand. I'd like to know for sure though. thanks

@mila_x - Fishing is all about luck and luck comes randomly :? , lol. Some days I AFK fish and I get no gold carps/terrapins/shining garbage and other days I will. Happy to hear you're fishing up some of those gold carps and terrapins. Happy fishing :D .

@blueberrywaffle - Once you accumulate 24800 points at beginner level then you will advance to intermediate fishing level. The points don't stack, points are reset to 0 when you become intermediate. You will need to get 74400 points for the next level. Hope that helped, wasn't quite sure what you were asking :) .
