Question! Does hitting the bar at the right times (perfect, great, good) actually do anything? There are times when I hit all perfects and still fail, and times when I miss everything and still get decent results. Also, hitting the bar at perfect doesn't stop the fishing process, so I don't really know whether it increases junk chance or if it does something else.

i don't have too much experience in this, but it appears that hitting the bars at the right time increases your chance of catching a fish. i catch like 80% of all fishes when i'm actively pressing the button, while when staying afk, i get like 1 fish in 3 tries.

what these missions are about, i can't tell. since hitting the bars doesn't seem to help getting a specified fish, those missions are completely random and you can't manipulate the outcome. so basically, hitting the bars = higher chance to get fish = higher fish:bait ratio = more profit.

but when you're online/active, i'd recommend looking for luminous/swirling fishing spots, as you can catch a fish there >every time< you get 2-3 good hits.

I would like to submit the results of my small experiment on "active fishing", as opposed to "afk fishing". The following report is as scientific as it is boring, so for the impatient readers, the bottom line is:

Active fishing increases the number of total fish caught by 70% with respect to afk fishing. In other words, switching from active fishing to afk fishing causes a decrease of 41% in terms of total fish caught.

The Report

Definitions
Afk fishing: The type of fishing where you hook the bait, start the fishing process and do not touch the keyboard until all the bait are automatically finished.
Active fishing: The type of fishing where you actually try to hit those "perfect, great, good" hit marks.

Equipment
Crude Bamboo Fishing Rod
Beginner's Shrimp Bait (x100)

Method
Go to Alker Farm Region, buy 100 bait, select a peaceful waters spot, throw in the hook and afk-fish. Repeat the process for active fishing.

Afk Fishing (37 fish)
23 dace
10 gold minnow
4 carp

Active Fishing (63 fish)
26 dace
26 gold minnow
11 carp

Conclusion

Active fishing increases the number of total fish caught by 70% with respect to afk fishing. In other words, switching from active fishing to afk fishing causes a decrease of 41% in terms of total fish caught.

Going passive decreases
total fish score by 41%
total dace score by 12%
total gold minnow score by 62%
total carp score by 64%

Going active from passive increases
total fish score by 70%
total dace score by 13%
total gold minnow score by 160%
total carp score by %175

Special Considerations
- Weather changes cause skews in results.
- Your reflexes may be better or worse than mine. However the afk-fishing data should be comparable.
- If you repeat this experiment and submit your data to me, I'll combine the results to give a community average.

i cant b 100% sure but did u press the LEFT crtl? it says on the guide so im not sure abt the right side one and for the second one if its on the side of it, they may count it as a miss it sometimes happens to me but does it happen to u every single time?

What happens as you increase your fishing level? Does it just allow you to wear better gear for increased chance to get gold carps/turtles, or does your catch rate of rares increase too?

gms should make boats in the the fishercat for 7/30 day rentals but for alot of fish points where you can enter a "dungeon" with it and you can fish all alone with a increased chance of so and so

Im still confused about your skill. As it goes up does that increase your chances of catching fish? I mean that would only make sense. Also the number to move to next level which is 24,800 is just unreal unless you AFK fish. I mean no one in their right mind would set in front of their PC and mash ctrl for 25000 casts assuming u catch a fish on everyone.
