Fighter Class Choosing Guide
Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
huhh, im really confused what class i should choose. im warrior lvl 40 and always leveling my str. and my skill all is two handed. but my vit, especially my defence is so weak. i think beter to be guard which is have a exelent vit. (i've fight many guard and always lost lol). guard is also have a little damage taken from monster (only 5-15) better than me as warrior (30-50). on the same level ofcourse.
so maybe i want change to infantry which is have have a best vit. but it means i must change all of my two handed skill into one handed right?
please give me the explanation lol

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
I'm new to the game. I've been reading a lot and i wanna be a fighter. I was thinking of using 1h mace with a shield and going full str with a Human Fighter>Warrior>Infantry>Knight>Paladin as my build. Could anyone give me some feedback and help me with my skill choices? I want to be able to aoe and have decent 1v1 skills.

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
Well just some general info -
DD (damage dealers) for purpose of this thread are full strength, two handed users, you have highest attack but poor defence due to lack of shield so potting a lot is nessecary but end game your dmg potential is highest, focus is pure strength
tankers are full vit, mace users with shield, low overall dmg but basically as sturdy as a rock and able to tank multiple mobs at once
hybrids are sword users and thus are inbetween, the benefits of sword are accuracy (not rapidity nonsense) and ability to use shield
also choosing a class at a certain lvl is important because determines maximum limit/how early can access certain skills and also passive bonuses from choosing that job.

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
Your getting confused with heavy weapon accuracy which is for all 2h weapons. Sword rapidity which is one of the passives for swords is attack speed not accuracy. Hybrids are not restricted to sword only.
Sword accuracy only applies to swordsman.

Nyurr. Uhh, I was looking through and was wondering which deals better damage. A Magnus or a Swordsman?
And what would be the best path for the Magnus?

Swordsman probably, they are geared more towards attack. And it depends on what kind of Magnus you want tbh.

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
I'm trying to decide on my third class. I'm a human guard and can't decide between Infantryman or Swordsman. I like the Infantryman's AOE taunt, but I also think I'd prefer Sword Storm over Holy Avenger (i think the magic inclined elves would benefit from it better). But it couldn't hurt to hybrid a human fighter with some magic skills. I plan on going Knight and have trained mostly with 1H, so I probably wouldn't benefit from the Swordsman 2H skills so quickly. However, if I start training now (lvl 35) my 2H skills, I may be able to ease up this debilitation. Finally, I want to know what this Support Sword skill is for the Swordsman? It may be what finalizes my decision. Please help =3

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
well actually i am thingking about changing to phalanx then crusader it will gain more DEF n HP at lv 80's (suck at lvling tho T_T)
but will have a great advantage at lv 105 to crusaders(25% attack damage add+loads of magical skills(to kill evasion guys
(i have a grudge against them) well it will be slower to get the swordstorm and doomburst tho)
which 1 should i choose weather on going knight-crusader,phalanx-crusader,or knight-paladin?

Which is better?
Warrior > Merc > Knight > Destroyer
or
Warrior > Swordman > knight > Destroyer ?
Since we are getting sleep during swordman.. It is an add-on for pvp..
Or what is the best 2H path to go for? Im planning to go for a Human DD fighter

i say swordman>knight>destroyer for you you wont be hit as hard since u lose a certain percent and taht percentage is actually really high later on for merc
but for swordman you get all this skills that benefits u more in both pvp and pve
like spirit aid...saves u more money and can get u forward fster than the pots
spirit sword good for both since it sleeps and if ur in a danger situation u can use it to heal urself once thenemy is sleep
and buffs and passive for swordman
and you wont get that from knight only the skills

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
hi, i just made my account and havent started playing luna online yet ^^;; but i do have a build in mind for a fighter i wanna start as thanks to this great guide. ^^
im thinking of an elf fighter > warrior > swordsman > rune knight > swordmaster with a full str build as i love the idea of using 2 swords
, but i wanna ask some questions first before i try this build.
1) does this build work well? and if not, can someone ask some ways to improve this build?
2) with this build, should i max heavy armor expertise when i become a rune knight, or should i max light armor expertise instead?
3) as well as str, i would like to have some vit for def, but i dont want to lose any str by lvls in my build, so is it a good idea to get vit equips or just str equips?
4) will i be able to use the 1hs or 2hs attacks and sword support skills like sword training and sword rapidity when im dual wielding?
5) before im able to dual wield, is it better for me to use a 1hs + shield or a 2hs?
6) if anyone knows a good skill build for this kind of fighter, can someone show me that skill build?
sry for all of the questions ^^; but it will be really helpful for me when i start playing, and again i like to thank dialaurel and anyone else who helped make this great guide ^^

it works well; a good solo build if 1h user or a good damage dealer if 2h user
2) with this build, should i max heavy armor expertise when i become a rune knight, or should i max light armor expertise instead?
it actually depends on which kind of armor you want to wear(which set effect benefits you more) but you can have the same amount of def with lvl 10 HAE AND save up on sp when compared to LAE
3) as well as str, i would like to have some vit for def, but i dont want to lose any str by lvls in my build, so is it a good idea to get vit equips or just str equips?
if you want def, just reinforce your armor with durelin and hope for a good stat
4) will i be able to use the 1hs or 2hs attacks and sword support skills like sword training and sword rapidity when im dual wielding?
you can use sword sKills... i dunno about the others
5) before im able to dual wield, is it better for me to use a 1hs + shield or a 2hs?
depends on you

Hey guys, I just hit 40 and switched over to Swordsman from Guard, and I was wondering where my skills 'Earthquake' and 'sleep' are, since they aren't in my list. Anyone give me a heads up as to what's wrong?

Thank you Jecht <3

I took the same path ^_^
Hm...IF you were guard then I assume you went 1H and didn't level the Uppercut Skill (I think that's the one) which at when leveled to 10 gives you Earthquake. I can't remember exactly which 2H skill it is but I do know that Earthquake is for 2H only. So if you want to use it as a Swordsman then you have to start training Upper Cut or Sword Bash (or w/e it's called). I'd advise against it at this stage if you plan to go Knight like I am seems how they are 1H as well. Focus on upping your 1H str and speed as well as you skills like Mana Control and Fighter's Heart. It'll enable you to solo better on those harder enemies. I found myself in desperate need of monk party members to up my MP and help me kill because I didn't keep up with my mana and would always drain it too quickly which caused me to spend valuable money on pots instead of equipment and weapons.
As for Sleep...I don't know why you can't find it. I had no trouble there =/ It's not that useful a skill seems how if you attack an enemy they wake up and your character automatically moves in to attack them. It's best for trying to run away from those bosses that are about to kill you or gives you a chance to regain your HP, but god help you if it fails. All in all, it a bit of a waste of SP and MP. What Swordsman runs from battle?!

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
Thanks Code. I'm still looking into what i want to do after I hit 75, but that won't be for a while. And yes, I soloed an Orc Patriarch (Stupid, STUPID idea on my part) and I would like to be able to not die as quick (I had to run several times to recuperate)
And thanks for the info regarding Earthquake, I'll be sure to up Crash Blow and Uppercut to at least five (Being a hybrid, I like being able to take damage and dish it out)

Thank you Jecht <3

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
spirit sword = sleep
at lvl 10 it equals 79% sleep chance for 20 seconds (10 seconds pvp), its mainly a pvp orientated skill, as it disables them from any action obviously.
it lets you get the first hit which is a deciding factor in pvp, if you have a high level stun skill then you can basically sleep/stun lock a opponent.

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
I'm kinda stuck at the moment. At first, I was sure that I was going to take the Fighter>Guard>Swordsman>Phalanx>Paladin path but now, I'm thinking of the Fighter>Guard>Infantryman>Phalanx>Paladin path. I know that top path has the accuracy and critical rate with Swordsman but, with Infantryman, I'd be more of the "tank" I'm making myself out to be in the lower path. I liked the idea of Swordsman with the heal and MP regen/buff but, I like the extra VIT I'd get with Infantryman (especially getting Heavy Armor Expertise). And, to add, I don't know if Swordsman gets a shield. I believe they do but, I don't know for sure. I'm a 1-H Sword + Shield user. I'm at Lv40 now and rather stuck. A llittle advice/suggestions/guidance to a new player would be nice. Thanks. ^^;

Re: Fighter Class Choosing Guide
Being Swordsman give you the option of being either 1H or 2H. So yes, you can have a shield as a swordsman if you use a 1H weapon. Downfall of being a 1H swordsman is that you're neither pwnage in strength like a 2H or defense like Infantry. Also Infantry has this cool aoe attract skill I believe (that or I've been reading things wrong) which makes spam aoe a breeze. After all Bloody Sky is all one really needs. However, I've grown found of the non target aoe for swordman as well (forget the name but it's for the 1H). I tend to combo it and Bloody Sky quite easily and I think a Swordsman hits harder than an Infantryman.
Of course there is the case that with the Heavy Armor and VIT buffs of Infantry, you'll pwn solo or pvp. You can gather giants no problem and level in no time. I'm at lvl 50 and I find myself teaming up with monks and thieves to help me out on those guys. If you like PvP, you'll find yourself capable of taking out thieves with little problem simply because of your defense.
But I also found love for the range skill a Swordsman gets. I don't know if Infantry gets something similar, but I always found the downfall of being a fighter is that you don't have range attacks and tend to get KS'd a lot. Also with this, you can combo it with Attract to bring monsters to you without having to run all over the place and finish em off with an nice AoE.
I don't know much about Phalanx, but it seems most people who want to go Knight pick swordsman. So you might be better off as Infantry if little worry of damage is what you desire.
As for the MP buff...it's nice but not necessary if you plan to tank with mages. They have the same buff and can heal you a lot more. Infantryman's heal is better than Swordsman as well. I never even use my heal >.< and you can't even use it on other people. I mean, considering I have about 3K hp...only healing for 200 is a waste of time and MP.
._. I don't mean to diss my own job class T_T I chose Swordsman because I like doing high damage. I can focus my SP into upping my attack skills rather than my armor. Also, I figured if I start hurting for defense I have a ton of Durilien stacked up just waiting for use. The giants drop that stuff like it's a bad habit.
